Parkersburg Catholic High School strives to provide opportunities for students to attain information literacy and a foundation for lifelong learning and reading enjoyment.

Mission Statement

Parkersburg Catholic High School library program works to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information unimpeded by social, economic, geographic, or technological constraints. This is accomplished by providing intellectual and physical access to material in all formats; providing instruction to foster competence and interest; working with facutly to enrich the curriculum; responding to the diverse interests and needs of the population.

Library

The PCHS Library is located on the second floor of the high school and is available to students, faculty, staff, and parents. The collection totals approxamitly 11,000 books of fiction and non-fiction, various periodicals, reference collections, CD ROMs. Electronic card catalogs make access to the collection easy. The facility offers a place for quiet reading and study, internet access, copying and printing capabilities. With prior arrangements, the library can also be used for school group meeting and classes; special activities; and community outreach.

Hours of Operation

The PCHS Library is open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including during lunch for quiet study and reading or catching up on homework or otherwise by special arrangement. The school librarian is Mrs. Yvonne Powderly.
